Cade is officially a BMX racer. It started with an early Birthday present....a racing bike. We don't usually spend that much for birthday's, but when Cade expressed an interest in racing bikes, we kind of jumped all over it. He is not a sport lover, and I have struggled with finding a "hobby" for him that he enjoys....but I think this is it! He is super excited now.....but when he first got to the track....well, not so much.
Ryan and Krystal had an old bike that they brought over for Cade to ride. He was less than excited about that....he really wanted a nice bike to ride. He likes everything to be just right, and this old heavy bike didn't really measure up. But he jumped on , started his practice run...and the chain fell off. lol. He was so bummed....and embarrassed. He had been so nervous for days before the race that everything would be ok and work out the way he wanted it to...and this was his nightmare coming true. Ryan put his arm around Cade and said, "well, this bike won't really do, will it?" and Krystal came wheeling out the new bike with balloons attached and said...."how 'bout this one?" Cade was in shock....he wasn't sure what to think....his Birthday isn't for a couple of weeks. But we didnt want to wait. He was so excited! He jumped on and made a lap.....and he is hooked!

Cade isn't one to show alot of emotion....but he was sooo excited!
His first lap on the new ride.....he was pumped!

His first race.
And another.....
Makes me teary eyed......

And another.....he does better and better everytime around.
The best thing about this for me, is watching his dad support him in it. He is Cade's biggest fan. Cade has needed that for a really long time....and since it is something Ryan loves as well, it has really boosted Cade up. He can tell his dad is proud of him.
Makes me teary eyed......
I know that sounds silly to alot of people....but that is because maybe it is taken for granted in their lives. It should be a normal thing right?...parents are suppose to always be there for their kids cheering them on and encouraging them in the things they love.
Kids of divorce get the raw end of the deal...
they don't always have the support they need and deserve.
It just happens in the situation....nothing against Ryan.
He is a good dad and he loves his kids very much.
It is just hard to always be there for your kids when they aren't with you all the time.
